situated two miles east of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, UK. We run a
grass airstrip and have a wide open site in which we run events
throughout the year.

Large Model Aircraft Show 1st & 2nd May

Sponsored by East Anglian Daily Times
The Large Model Association is supporting what will promise to be the largest show of this specialists’ weekend in East Anglia. Subject to availability and weather conditions there will be quarter sized models, Spitfires, B17s, Lancaster Bombers with wingspans up to 20ft and jets flying at 200mph to name but a few!

Suffolk International Kite Festival & All Wheel Drive Show *
15th & 16th May Sponsored by Bury St Edmunds Mercury
Featuring international champion kite flyers with: The Bunch, Ozone, The Flying Squad, Evolver and others including champion freestyle buggy riders. There will also be special practice and a kite making areas. Presenting the new “All Wheel Drive Show” with specially designed off-road courses with camping available for drivers and visitors.

Wings Wheels & Steam Country Fair & Armed Forces Day 26th & 27th June
The title fully describes the show, but more so with visiting aircraft, a bustling market, 2 show rings for cavalcades of steam traction engines, vintage machinery, classic & custom cars, falconry, sheep dog display, terrier racing, a Sunday dog show, crafts fair, fun fair, music cafe, a real ale bar and a custom car show. Children will be invited to bring a photo of a related veteran for Saturday’s Armed Forces Day, subject to sponsors.

Heart Air Display with Classic Car Show: 14th & 15th August

This event never fails to excite the crowds with a 1 1/2 hrs display on Saturday and a full 41/2 hrs on Sunday. At this stage it will be too early to name the pilots and aircraft that will fly but no one should be disappointed! In addition there will be classic cars, Military Vehicles, re-enactments, Punch & Judy, exhibitors, trade stalls, crafts fair, food stalls, music café, children’s entertainment and a real ale tent.

Ploughs to Propellers Forties Weekend * 2nd & 3rd October
Over 200 aircraft expected to visit, “Forties Cars”, re-enactments with military vehicles,
vintage tractors and weekend ploughing, large & miniature steam engines, trade stalls, craft
fair and catering units, not forgetting the real ale bar with forties entertainment, presenting
Fiona Harris on both days, plus the Silver Bird Music Show on Sunday and Champagne
prizes for the best dressed Dandy & Doll!
