Where to see in the New Year in Bury and Beyond!

New Year’s Eve; a chance for everyone to let their hair down, party the night  away, say goodbye to 2017 and hello to 2018.   

Everybody’s choice of a New Year’s Eve celebration may be different so if you are looking for a place that is lively with lots of music and dancing or if you prefer to celebrate with a delicious meal we have found some great places to see in the New Year in Bury St Edmunds and Beyond. 

Ben's Restaurant 

The award-winning 'Field to Fork' restaurant is serving up a mouth-watering 3 course dinner on New Year's Eve. Priced at £60pp, start the evening with Prosecco and canapes, followed by a starter of steamed Deben mussels, beetroot and spinach risotto or Ben's pressed herb and pork terrine.  For main, choose from wild Suffolk venison fillet, pan roasted fillet of hake, Blythburgh pork loin or wild mushroom, squash, sage and suet pudding. 

To complete your meal there's dark chocolate torte, steamed cranberry and clementine sponge or vanilla panna cotta with poached pears. If you've got room, squeeze in a delicious cheese board of Suffolk Gold, Suffolk Brie and Suffolk Blue Cheese with crackers, apple, celery and home made chutney.

The Angel Hotel  

Welcome 2018 in stylish the stylish surroundings of The Angel Hotel in the heart of Bury St Edmunds. The delectable 5 course menu is £88pp and the ideal way to celebrate with a loved ones, friends or family. Whet your appetite with a pre-starter of venison ragu, jerusalem artichoke and sprout tops. Your starter is citrus cured organic salmon beetroot, coastal sea herbs and salmon caviar and for main, tuck into Goosnargh duck breast with smoked celeriac puree. A little something to sweeten your meal; the pre-dessert of Rum and muscavado baked pineapple, is followed by mint chocolate mousse, mint ice, mint sponge and dark chocolate brownie.

The Northgate 

Make a night of it and start your 2018 in the sumptuous surroundings of The Northgate. The dine & stay package is £395 per room and includes check in from 3pm, a bottle of Champagne and handmade truffles in your room to kick start the celebrations, a 6-course tasting menu in the restaurant and a Bucks Fizz breakfast the following day. 

If you'd rather head home at the end of the evening, book a table and indulge in a 6-course tasting menu with Champagne at midnight. The menu features homemade breads and canapes, saffron and heritage potato chowder, sticky pigs cheek with celeriac mustard see, monkfish scampi with chorizo mayonaise, roast fillet of Suffolk beef, and baked white chocolate and Madagascan vanilla cheesecake with cherry brandy sauce.

The Swan at Lavenham

The staff at The Swan at Lavenham are inviting you to see in the New Year and  celebrate ‘A Sufolk New Year’ at their stunning hotel and spa.  The 2 night package includes a New Year’s Eve five-course (from their first  class restaurant) Black Tie Dinner Gala dinner, live music and dancing with  Big Band vocalist Ian Gallagher and a guided walk of Lavenham.

The Grange Country House Hotel  

The Grange Country House Hotel is pulling out all the stops here to make sure you have a New Year’s Eve you won’t forget! You will arrive in style on their red carpet at 6pm and the evening kicks off with a delicious seven (yes seven) course meal. After dinner you will enjoy the evening’s entertainment - a casino, followed by a disco. 

Once midnight  arrives make your way into the garden to make a New Year’s Eve wish and light a sky lantern. The night is still young so there will be another chance to enjoy some music and dancing until 1am. What a way to celebrate New Year’s Eve!

Tickets for the New Year’s Eve party are just £65pp and includes the  following; Cocktail on arrival and music from The Wild Ones playing music from  the 60’s and 70’s. A hot and cold gala buffet plus dessert will also be served  and some fun and games will also be thrown in along the way. The DJ will be playing music from all the decades to get ensure the dance floor is filled all night.
