Festival Open Air Concerts

Enjoy an evening of live music whilst watching the sun go down at one of these open-air concerts at this year's Bury St Edmunds Festival...

As summer sets in, thoughts turn to warm evenings spent outside with glass of your favourite tipple in hand as the sun sets. If you love nothing more than sitting underneath the stars and listing to an evening of fantastic live music, then the Bury St Edmunds Festival 'Nowton Nights' open-air concerts will be right up your street!


Jules Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra - 25th May

The legendary Jools Holland & his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra will be packing the tunes in at Nowton Park on 25th May. Accompanying him will be Gilson Lavis with special guest Marc Almond and guest vocalists Ruby Turner, Louise Marshall and Rosie Mae.

The gates open at 5.45pm so take along your fold out chair or blanket, but we guarantee you won't be sat down for long as the funky tunes can be fully enjoyed with a dance under the stars in stunning park. 

Start: 7.30pm, gates open: 5.45pm (Car parks open from 5pm), ends at 10pm approximately. 

Tickets: Standard £44.50, Gold Circle £55.50, under 14's must be accompanied by an adult. Under 5s will be admitted without a ticket if accompanied by a paying adult.

Gilbert O'Sullivan Picnic Concert - 26th May

What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon, than with a picnic whilst listening to the multi-award winning Gilbert O'Sullivan. The special matinee picnic concert will be celebrating his five decades of music; all the hits will be on the set list including 'Alone Again Naturally', 'Nothing Rhymed', 'Clair Matrimony' and 'Get Down', as well as songs from the latest album 'Latin Ala G' including 'No Way' and 'I Guess I’ll Always Love You'.

Book Gold Circle tickets, and you can also enjoy an exclusive meet and greet!

The gates open at 12.30pm so you can tuck into your picnic and soak up the sun before the concert starts at 1.30pm.

Tickets: Standard £39.50, Gold Circle £51.50 (Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult, Under 5s will be admitted without a ticket if accompanied by a paying adult)


ABBA Mania - Picnic Party in the Park - 26th May

Don your platforms and flares and grab your glitter ball as ABBA Mania takes to the stage at Nowton Park. The world's number one touring ABBA production will have you dancing along to the songs of one of the world’s finest pop groups in a live stage performance. 

The gates open at 6pm so there's plenty of time to make the most of the stunning surroundings of Nowton Park before the hits kick off at 7.30pm. 

Tickets: Adult £26.50, Under 14s £15.00 (Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult, Under 5s will be admitted without a ticket if accompanied by a paying adult) Venue: Nowton Park, Bury St Edmunds


UB40 - 27th May

With more than 50 singles and with over 70 million records sold worldwide, Nowton Park will be playing host to the fabulous UB40 this Bury St Edmunds Festival. 

They have been nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album four times, and in 1984 were nominated for the Brit Award for Best British Group, so the concert promises to be jam-packed with sing-a-long hits!

Watch the sunset and soak up the atmosphere from 6pm, with the concert starting at 7.30pm. 

Tickets: £43.00 (Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult, under 5s will be admitted without a ticket if accompanied by a paying adult)
