Suffolk may not be the first place you think of for a luxury shopping experience, but the county, which is less than two hours drive from London, is fast becoming a hotspot for high fashion!

Here you can find designer clothing brands, cosmetics and accessories catering for all styles; from country chic to high fashion, sports-luxe to cashmere. So whether it’s bags, make up, boots or shoes that you can’t resist, be sure to set aside some time during your visit to Suffolk for a shopping spree!

Collen & Clare

Listed at one of the best 50 boutiques outside London by the Sunday Telegraph’s Stella Magazine, you will find Collen & Clare stores in Southwold and Aldeburgh. The flagship boutique in Southwold, located in the town’s Market Place sells menswear, womenswear, shoes, lingerie, accessories and beauty products from over 100 different brands including Mulberry, Barbour, S Max Mara, Diane Von Furstenberg, Hermes, Hartford, Suit, Levis and UGG to name but a few.

Head over to Aldeburgh and peruse the shops along the High Street for a unique shopping experience; the Collen & Clare store is located within a former art gallery and you will find everything you need for a weekend on the coast; from beach walks and dinner, to theatre trips and night’s out. This store doesn’t stock menswear, but you can see and buy the boutique’s full range from their website.

Dapper Fox

Located in the historic town of Bury St Edmunds on The Traverse, Dapper Fox is an exciting and upcoming menswear brand selling high quality men’s fashions with everything from casual wear including jeans, t shirts, knitwear and shoes to made to measure suits custom fit shirts and accessories such as bow ties, scarves, socks and grooming products, and their Suffolk-made ties; featuring bold patterns and made with blended wool and silk fabrics (worn by Ant and Dec to meet the Queen!).

Maud’s Attic

Situated in Ipswich’s historic Saints area, Maud’s Attic is a vintage-inspired treasure trove of jewellery, bags, accessories and homewares. No two days are the same, and with stock changing every you can go back again and again and find something new to take home!

Vintage lovers can spend an hour or two perusing the shelves, dressers, nooks and crannies for art deco lamps, retro signs and posters, 1960s style handbags, perfume bottles, theatrical masks and unique jewellery.

O&C Butcher

You can pick up everything you need for a weekend in Suffolk at O&C Butcher in Aldeburgh. The shop, which is situated on the town’s High Street, has been selling mens and women’s clothing and accessories in the town since 1884!

If you need to wrap up for a walk along the beach, you can buy matching Dubarry jackets, knitwear and boots, wax jackets and deck shoes from Barbour, boat shoes from Sperry and shirts and jeans from GANT.

Your 4-legged friend can match you too, the store sells a range of Barbour accessories including leads, collars and dog coats!

Nicola Sexton

Selling shoes and clothing, Nicola Sexton boutique is a must-visit during a weekend in Suffolk. The boutique, which is located on Abbeygate Street in historic Bury St Edmunds is a mecca for shoe lovers, with the racks boasting brogues, high heels, kitten heels, mules, wedges and flip flops from brands including Sachelle Couture, Bianca Di Black and Luciano Padovan.

The boutique has it’s own range of shoes and boots too, with everything from pumps and trainers, to ankle boots, court shoes, peep toes and brogues. For something to go with the shoes, add a pair of Salsa jeans and an Extenzo Paris jacket to your bag, and accessorise with a pashmina, bag and jewellery.


There are two Nanook stores for you to visit whilst staying in Suffolk; in Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury both selling luxury Italian Collections. The ranges are hand-picked and exclusive to the stores. Set amongst the cobbles on The Traverse in Bury St Edmunds and on Friars Street in Sudbury, both boutiques offer a range luxury knitwear, blouses, trousers, jackets, dresses, shoes and accessories.

Many of the pieces stocked are only available in small quantities and only available in store, so if you fall in love with a coat, cardigan or cashmere jumper, make sure you buy it!

Zeebra Chic

An independent boutique in Ipswich, Zeebra Chic sells a unique range of Italian Clothing made from high quality fabrics including cottons, linens, silks and wools. The relaxed styles include cotton tunics, cotton dresses, trousers, shoes and coats. There’s a range of accessories too, including handbags, jewellery, scarves and hats.
