Family Park Cooking sessions

This summer holiday Explore Outdoor has put together a huge and exciting holiday programme in 7 towns across West, South and Mid Suffolk to provide 700 families the opportunity to join one of their Family Park Cooking sessions.

Spend a day in the great outdoors, during the morning you get to learn how to build your own campfires, then you will prepare your own lunch from a recipe written by top Suffolk chef James Carn. After your delicious lunch we will take part in more fun and active outdoor activities. At the end of the day they will send you home with a box of ingredients for 5 meals and recipe cards. With your ingredients and recipe cards, you and your family can practice the cooking skills you learnt during the day and they have even put together online videos to support every recipe!

Explore Outdoor have been supported by Suffolk County Council, West Suffolk Council and Babergh District Council and Mid Suffolk District Council to provide activity days for families and children in receipt of free school meals. If you are eligible for free school meals, have a child over 8 years old and haven’t already been referred by your school send Explore Outdoor an email and they will find you a space!
