The Windmill Suffolk Features on Popular TV Show

The Windmill Suffolk, a unique and luxurious self-catering holiday accommodation, near Bury St Edmunds has been featured on Channel 4's George Clarke's Amazing Spaces.

One of the most unique places to stay in Bury St Edmunds and Beyond is The Windmill Suffolk and its stunning design has been featured on George Clarke's Amazing Spaces on Channel 4.

Natalie and Steve Roberts bought the derelict windmill after seeing the farmhouse, granary and the windmill for sale in a newspaper when they visited Suffolk in 2008 for Bury St Edmunds Christmas Fayre.

They fell in love with the windmill and spent two years transforming it into a luxury holiday home which sleeps four, offering guests unique accommodation and panoramic views of the surrounding Suffolk countryside.

Restoring the 18m windmill, built in 1891, was not without its challenges - its unique curved shape meant that everything had to be bespoke and handmade, from the velvet sofas to the marble kitchen surfaces and beds. There's even a 47” curved internet enabled TV with Sky +HD!

The top of the windmill has a modern twist - a zinc roof, which won a National Roofing award in 2016. Zinc also offers environmental benefits, ages well and is relatively low maintenance compared with a material like wood which would need to be repainted yearly. The couple also wanted something striking that would sit well with the high-end five-star luxury feel they have created inside.

Inside, The Windmill Suffolk has stunning panoramic views across the rolling Suffolk countryside. You can enjoy the uninterrupted view of the Suffolk sunset from the comfy warmth of the ‘POD’ top floor living space. Or in the small hours, relax and delight in the amazing and far reaching night sky views from the 4th floor balcony. There's even a telescope which you can use from the swivel chair on the raised viewing deck.

Downstairs, there's a stunning kitchen area (with all the utilities you could need) with bi-fold doors which leads through onto your own private garden and terrace with far reaching views.

Upstairs, there's a luxurious marble and mosaic shell bathroom which features both a freestanding oversized oval bath and a walk-in monsoon rain shower with vistas across the Suffolk countryside. This sumptuous sanctuary comes complete with fluffy dressing gowns, super soft towels and a complimentary selection of Elemis toiletries.

The adult only accommodation at The Windmill Suffolk sleeps 4 people and consists of 2 luxurious and cosy bedrooms on the first and third floors. The first floor bedroom can be arranged to your request as either King-size or 2 single beds.

Bespoke handmade super king size beds furnished with sumptuous linens, cushions and throws promise a blissful uninterrupted night’s sleep, making it all the more tempting to enjoy an early night or a lazy morning in bed!
