Sunflower Spectacular at Rougham Estate

It’s going to be a breath-taking display not to be missed at Rougham Estate from 29th July as 88,000 sunflowers will come into full bloom.

This is a brand-new venture for Rougham Estate (owners of Blackthorpe Barn, just outside Bury St Edmunds) and one that will bring sunshine to the hearts of many as they enjoy a sight not usually experienced in Suffolk.

With specially cut pathways through the sunflowers, visitors can enjoy a wonderful, immersive stroll through the flowers and choose some to take home, stems will be from £2 each and payment is by card only.

There will be plenty of photo opportunities too, why not use the special sunflower swing or the selfie picture frame.

Plus, there are carefully selected picnic areas ready to be enjoyed, choose from the grassy area with deckchairs or picnic benches.  So, bring your own blankets and hampers, or you can purchase refreshments and delicious treats at the weekends from Mobile Brew, or visit The Courtyard Café at nearby Blackthorpe Barn for a full range of savoury and tempting sweet delights.

Amie Deane, Events Co-ordinator of Rougham Estate says, “I’m so excited to see the wonderful sunflowers in full bloom, it’s going to be truly spectacular. Sunflowers are so beautiful, we wanted to do something to spread a little summer delight for everyone to enjoy. I can’t wait to see all the smiles and I hope everyone will love the sunflowers as much as I will.  We also have exciting plans to expand our pick your own offering in the coming years.”

The Sunflower field is just off the A14, junction 45 at Rougham, just outside Bury St Edmunds (postcode IP30 9JA), it will be fully signposted. Admission and parking are both free and toilets and baby changing facilities are available.
