About this Business
Kentwell Hall is one of England’s finest Tudor houses, developed in stages between about 1500 and 1578. To reach Kentwell you will drive 3/4 mile along an avenue of Lime trees. The house is fully moated and reached by two original bridges.
The house is not a stately home but a very much lived-in and loved family home, something it has been for over 500 years.
Kentwell offers a number of opportunities for visitors to stay on the Kentwell estate.
Hall Barn - Holiday Cottage, Farmhouse-styleRecently converted, Hall Barn, on the Kentwell estate, with its timber frame beams, nooks and crannies, huge garden and antique furniture is a charming location to relax and have fun in. It can be let as 3 or 5 bedrooms to sleep 11 to 14 people.
Lodge CottageCharming, stylish holiday accommodation in our gatehouse lodge cottage - sleeps four over two bedrooms, which can each be twin or double rooms. Recently converted to a very high standard.
State Bedroom - Honeymoon SuiteWe have a grand suite in the house available to couples who have their wedding ceremony and/or reception at Kentwell. The bedroom is said to have once been used by The (Grand Old) Duke of York and has been restored with its original wallpaper and is decorated with antique furniture, including a gilded 'cupid' bed. The extravagant bathroom is fully painted with murals inspired by the estate and has a very heavy marble bath, that we originally found in the gardens and lifted up through the window with the use of a strong crane!
Bed & BreakfastGrand rooms in the hall are occasionally available for Bed & Breakfast for wedding guests who wish to stay in the house following a reception.
Grooms CottageBasic accommodation in our farm cottage, located in the stableyard. We rent this out during weddings for guests to stay in.
