About Abbeygate Cinema

A beautifully modernised yet perfectly original 1920's cinema showing everything from timeless classics to box office latest releases.

The cinema boasts an impressive programme of Screen Arts and its Discover Cinema strand offers vintage classics, art-house gems and riveting documentaries.

There’s regular film for all ages and groups too with Family Matinees, Toddler Time, Parent & Baby Screenings, Silver Screen, Cinema For School and Dementia Friendly Screenings.

The cinema is packed full of comfortable reclining seats and cosy sofas and you can also enjoy a glass of wine, beer or soft drink and tasty snacks from the bar whilst watching your film.

The Abbeygate Cinema's Georgian style licensed restaurant, No.4, is perfect for a coffee and a chat, afternoon tea with home-made cakes, a relaxing glass of wine or a sit-down meal, available day and night.

No.4’s menu is created by the restaurant’s Red Seal certified Canadian chef, Alex Rotherham who specialises in Canadian West Coast cuisine blending foods from around the world yet using local produce when possible.

Its Create-Your-Own Burgers are arguably the best in town and there’s a diverse wine and beer menu available plus cocktails, malted milkshakes and artisan coffees.

There’s a superb Sunday Brunch menu and the children’s menu has the same great choices just smaller portions.

This beautiful café/restaurant has a wonderful upstairs dining area which can be used for private hire - perfect for private parties, business meetings and other events.
