About Courtyard Café at Blackthorpe Barn

As part of the changes that are happening at Blackthorpe Barn this year, their much-loved café will not be able to open indoors. The crowds, lack of ventilation and social distancing make this impossible to achieve until the restrictions are lifted.

This will be the first time that this popular café will have opened through the summer months. Each Friday, Saturday and Sunday this outdoor café will be open from 10am to 4pm.

Set in the courtyard of the historic Blackthorpe Barn, the Courtyard Café is perfectly located for anyone fancying a country walk with their dog, a bike ride or just a piece of delicious homemade cake and a cup of freshly made coffee or choose a cold drink to soak in the sun.

Liz and her friendly ‘Karat Catering’ team will be waiting to make your day just that little bit better. With distanced seats around the courtyard as well as tables in chalets and undercover too, Liz has thought of everything.

As we all cautiously emerge from lockdown, what could be better than meeting a friend for a walk and a treat, safely outdoors in the knowledge that if it rains it is all taken care of.

To book a chalet for a tea party please ring Liz on 01638 500411 or email

There is a new entrance to lead you to the courtyard so please follow the signs and use the new car park, ie not in front of the thatched barn.

Outdoor tables are available for groups of no more than 6 people per table and all tables are socially distanced. As it’s outdoor, please bring along an extra layer, as we know spring weather can get nippy.

There are hand sanitiser points in the courtyard and in the toilets.

Will only take credit cards (no cash).

Open: Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
