Lorfords is a traditional specialist tobacconist, in the old-fashioned style, which has been trading at or near its present location in Bury St Edmunds for around a hundred years.
As well as a baffling range of pipe and hand-rolling tobaccos, snuffs and cigarettes the shop features a walk-in humidor where numerous Cuban and other hand-made cigars can be found.
Smokers requisites are also available, from beautiful briar wood pipes to whatever filter or tool your particular tobacco habit might call for; some of these items, for example cigarette lighters, can make for great gifts.
Be warned that Lorfords also operates as a regular corner newsagent and confectioner (including traditional jarred sweets) so can be very busy, particularly on Saturdays when everyone comes in for their Lottery tickets!
Above the tobacconist on a mezzanine level you will find Lorfords Games Gallery, which stocks traditional and unusual games.
The range here is aimed at adults rather than children and includes chess, backgammon and mahjjong sets, board games, poker chips, playing cards and many other games and gaming equipment. This is a great place for present ideas.
