About Unison

UNISON is the largest public sector trade union in the United Kingdom with over 1.3 million members delivering services to people within Local Government, Healthcare, Police Support Staff, Private Contractors, Business and Environment, Education, Community, Voluntary and Housing Associations.

There are 12 Regions within UNISON, the Eastern Region of UNISON being one of them. They cover an area that includes Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Essex.

Supporting their members in workplaces are both local volunteer representatives and paid staff. So, if their members have issues within their workplace there is always someone that they can go to for help, advice and support.

These issues can range from simple advice to dealing with more complex issues such as major employer negotiations, individual or collective grievances and disciplinaries.

In addition as a diverse and as a member led organisation UNISON campaigns on a number of other issues at a local, regional and national level. These issues include:

A Million Voices for Change
Equal Pay

Stop the BNP
Public Sector Pensions
Challenging Racism
