About this event
Matt Cardle returns to The Apex to celebrate the anniversary of his 2011 platinum-selling debut album ‘Letters’ (a year later than it’s 10th birthday due to the pandemic).
Matt Cardle’s BRIT nominated debut album ‘Letters’ includes the No.2 Gary Barlow penned ‘Run For Your Life’, the singles ‘Amazing’ and ‘Starlight’ plus, the No.1 million-selling single ‘When We Collide’, which he first performed to over 19 million people when he won The X Factor in 2010.
This special anniversary show will see the debut album performed in full for the very first time with a full live band. Additionally there will be songs from Matt’s three other studio albums 'The Fire' (2012), 'Porcelain' (2013) and 'Time To Be Alive' (2018). Plus a few surprises and festive treats thrown in for good measure too!
Matt is a multi-platinum selling recording artist having clocked up over 21 million streams alongside in excess of 2.2 million record sales. In addition to Matt’s acclaimed output as a solo artist, he has established himself as an award-winning West End actor; appearing as Huey Calhoon in 'Memphis' (alongside Beverley Knight), Wally Strand in Baz Lurhman’s 'Strictly Ballroom' and as Pilate in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s 'Jesus Christ Superstar'.

About the Venue
The Apex is an award-winning venue, known for its acoustic excellence and home to a diverse programme of live music and events; from classical concerts to pop, rock, jazz, blues, world, country and folk, plus comedy and dance performances.

It has been very well publicised (and we never tire of hearing it!) that, as well as its architectural beauty, The Apex also has the very best acoustics, with many musicians who've played here describing it as the best acoustic in the UK, if not Europe:
"Best new venue in the UK. Absolutely superb" - Funeral For A Friend
"Best acoustic wee had in 40 years of touring" - Fairport Convention
"The best hall we have ever played in" - The Escher String Quartet
