A Christmas Carol

This December, Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds are presenting a brand-new outdoor adaptation of one of the country's best-loved Christmas stories - A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.

A Christmas Carol
Start Date: 11 December 2020
End Date: 24 December 2020

Angel Hill, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk

Adapted by Owen Calvert-Lyons and Ian Jarvis, this must-see production of A Christmas Carol will be taking place outdoors on historic Angel Hill, set against the beautiful backdrop of The Angel Hotel, where Dickens stayed, in an aim to bring the streets of Victorian London right into the heart of Bury St Edmunds!

With in-the-round staging and headphone technology, audiences will be able to fully immerse themselves in a Dickensian world.

The 60-minute show will be performed twice each evening from 11 December to 24 December at 7pm and 9pm (excluding Tuesday 15 December and Monday 21 December).
The Christmas Eve performances will be at 5pm and 7pm.

The production has been made possible with the support of West Suffolk Council and is sponsored by Taylor Wimpey East Anglia.

A wonderful way to end the year in the very spot where many scenes for the film The Personal History of David Copperfield were filmed!
