Beatrix Potter - The Melford Hall Connection

Beatrix Potter - The Melford Hall Connection
Start Date: 17 September 2019
Start Time: 12pm
End Date: 3 November 2019
End Time: 5pm

Melford Hall, Long Melford

Beatrix Potter would regularly take extended holidays at Melford Hall between 1899 and 1916 and her name and doodles can be found in a number of visitor books in the house.

Beatrix would always carry a camera or sketchbook with her, and would sketch, paint or photograph. This exhibition, in our Banqueting House, of facsimile sketches by Beatrix Potter will show some of these sketches and paintings, some of which are rarely on show. This is a unique opportunity to gain further insights into Beatrix's work and personality.

These sketches drawn whilst visiting her cousins, the Hyde Parkers, are inspired by Melford Hall and the surrounding area.

Entry: Adults £9, children £4.50. Family tickets available.
