The Clare Winter Festival launches with the two-day Clare Christmas Fair which takes place by candlelight at the historic and beautiful St. Peter and St. Paul’s Church on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th November.

Visitors will find a selection of gifts, decorations, crafts and Christmas produce all in the atmospheric candlelit surroundings of the church in Clare, one of the important wooltowns.

You will be welcomed with a complimentary glass of something warming to enjoy while you browse the stalls, which will offer a variety of lovely goods including jewellery, chocolates, cheeses, dolls, collectable teddies, ceramics, turned wooden items, artwork, Christmas wreaths, candles, felted gifts, toys, cards, decorative and stained glass and much, much more.

PLUS the chance to buy one – or two! – items from the delicious Clare festive pudding range which now includes luxury chocolate and sticky toffee sauces.

Other refreshments will be available and you will be able to sit, relax and listen to some carols. Admission is free.

Clare Winter Festival
The three-week Winter Festival will encompass a large number of events in venues around Clare, culminating with the Christmas Market on Market Hill on Saturday 16th December.

On Saturday 2nd December Clare will be switching on its famous Christmas Lights which provide a colourful backdrop to everything in the town throughout the Christmas and New Year period. On the same day there will also be a Christmas Craft Fair in the Town Hall.

Music is an important part of Clare community life and there will be rock music in the Globe on two evenings; Treble C, the Clare Community Choir, giving a concert in the Town Hall on 25th November and a Community Carols event in the Baptist Church on 11th December.

If music is not your thing then why not come along to see Crib Fest 2017 from the 6th December in the Baptist Church, a display of nativity scenes of many shapes and sizes from many different places - including many from groups and individuals in and around Clare.
Clare's independent shops are also getting in on the act and have organised a late night shopping experience for you on Thursday 7th December.

On Saturday 16th December there is a great opportunity to finish your Christmas shopping at the last Clare market of the year: all your favourite stalls plus local food and drink, handmade crafts and warming mulled wine, live music and free chocolate coins for children.
