Giffords Hall Vineyard,
Giffords Hall is a family owned vineyard planted on the site of an ancient glacial riverbed near Long Melford in Suffolk. Our sandy/clay soil produces quality grapes, high in natural sugars and acids, that lend themselves particularly well to both sparkling and dry, aromatic still wines.
The vineyard was planted around 25 years ago and the vines are now in their prime. Madeleine Angevine, Bacchus, Reichensteiner, Rondo, Pinot Noir, (both Burgundian and Precoce), and of course our Pinot Blanc, all do well on this site.
Our wines have received many awards and trophies over the years including the Waitrose trophy for most outstanding rose and National English Wine Trophy for our Bacchus.
The Grand Tour
A Grand Tour includes a fully guided tour of the vineyard, with a talk on the grape varieties we grow and the wines they produce, followed by a tasting and presentation of three wines and three liqueurs. The cafe is open for cakes, coffee and ice creams and the shop is full of lovely things to buy!
Our Grand Tours start at 11am (fairly promptly) and last approximately an hour. To book select the date you would like and print off your email receipt as proof of purchase. We do not send out vouchers for this tour.
Dogs are welcome but must remain on a lead as we have lambs and chicks. Please bring comfortable footwear to walk in, and wellies & waterproofs if the weather is uncertain.
£25 per person - children under 18 free (the wine tasting is only available to visitors over 18 years of age - please do not be offended if we ask for proof of age).
