Start Date: 13 November 2021
Start Time: 7pm
End Date: 13 November 2021

Improvised comedy group [Insert Laughter Here] are delighted to announce their return to in-person performances! Following three sold-out live shows in their first year, and several popular live-streamed events on Facebook in 2020, the team are back for two brand new shows at the beautiful Market Cross in Bury St Edmunds, Sat 2nd October and Sat 13th November.

In these shows, the team will play a series of improvisation games to create hilarious scenes from scratch, based only on audience suggestions of places, character quirks, jobs and lines of dialogue. Previous scenes have included a planet of glowing-haired aliens, an unfortunate costume malfunction at a wedding, a nature documentary on public shopping habits and a bank heist that went incredibly badly. No show is ever the same, who knows what will happen next!

There are also some new performers joining the team this year. With some of the other members scattering themselves around the country on various creative endeavours, it was time to find some new faces and the group are delighted to welcome Hayley Evenett and James Ducker.

Hayley Evenett graduated with a Masters in Drama and Theatre Studies, and has been working professionally in Theatre, Film, TV and Radio across the UK, Ireland and even in Australia. Notable roles include Dana Barrett in Ministers of Grace: The Unauthorised Shakespearean Parody of Ghostbusters (REDuck ProDUCKtions); lead characters JJ and Bette in the award-winning audio drama Mockery Manor, and Bob & Wren in audio drama musical The Ballad of Anne and Mary (both by Long Cat Media).

James Ducker has been an actor for more years than he dares to think about and has worked all over East Anglia, London and even Taiwan. He runs award-nominated REDuck ProDUCKtions along with Hayley, produced and performed in the 5* Edinburgh Fringe sold-out critically acclaimed Adelaide Fringe show Ministers of Grace: The Unauthorised Shakespearean Parody of Ghostbusters, which also transferred to Norwich Theatre's Interlude in 2020. He somehow got a degree in drama from the University of Northampton and was lucky enough to be a part of The Actor's Class in London. James is delighted to be Hayley's chauffeur when she needs to be at gigs and is over the moon to be joining [Insert Laughter Here] to mess around on stage for a bit.

The Market Cross has recently been repurposed into a community creative space. The mission is to support the health and wellbeing of the local community through engagement in a range of creative arts and physical activity. They also look to support creatives by providing a professionally managed venue for performances, classes and workshops; and they’re working on creating a community for creatives to facilitate connections across various art forms. [Insert Laughter Here] will be the first comedy performances to take to their stage, with the audience seated cabaret style in the gloriously beautiful main space.

At both shows the doors open at 7pm and there is a minimum recommended age of 16+ because nothing is planned and the performers can (and often do) perform scenes which contain adult content or swearing.

Tickets are on sale now via the Market Cross website, with strictly limited numbers available for each performance. To access tickets for both shows, visit https://linktr.ee/ilhimprov.
