Lavenham Children's Book Festival
Start Date: 20 October 2018
End Date: 21 October 2018

Lavenham Village Hall, Church St, Lavenham, Sudbury CO10 9QT

The 2nd Lavenham Children's Book Festival boasts an exciting line-up of well-loved authors and illustrators in a programme aimed at children aged 3 to 12.

There will be story telling, how-to-draw sessions, creative writing workshops and the festival ends with a very special musical event for all the family!

Among those taking part are Zeb Soanes the Radio 4 broadcaster and illustrator James Mayhew with their book Gaspard the Fox.
A.L. Kennedy (Costa Book Award winner) tells the tale of eccentric Uncle Shawn, Rob Starling introduces Fergal the furious dragon and Ross Welford is bringing his 1,000 year-old boy.

Illustrator Shoo Rayner and story-teller Kevin Crossley-Holland will be returning for this year's festival. Bridget Holding, who will be familiar to those of you who came to last year’s adult Literary Festival, will again be running workshops in creative writing, this time for children aged 6-10 and 11-16.

The Festival ends with a treat for young and old. James Mayhew, who runs a series of concerts for children in venues including the Barbican and the Royal Albert Hall, joins forces with local professional musicians to illustrate stories accompanied by live music.

There will also be an opportunity to purchase books and to have them signed.

Tickets are now on sale at the Theatre Royal, Bury St.Edmunds www.theatreroyal.org./upcoming/also-selling-for/  and you can find out more about the Festival on www.lavenhamliteraryfestival.co.uk.
Some sessions have restricted numbers, so we suggest that you book tickets as soon as you can.
