Christchurch Mansion, Ipswich
From masquerade to movies, carvings to cartoons, folklore to fake news; people have told stories for thousands of years and this exhibition at Christchurch Mansion will explore the power of stories to shape our lives.
For the first time ever in a UK museum, three iconic costumes from Marvel's Black Panther will be woven into a patchwork of storytelling traditions from across time and place. The outfits of T’Challa, Shuri and Okoye featured in the ground-breaking film will sit alongside Marvel comics, historic museum objects and local stories from the people of Ipswich.
The costumes from Marvel's Black Panther will be the headline objects in the exhibition; highlighting the incredible influence of the film on celebrating black identities and black stories.
At the heart of the exhibition will be stories from the local Ipswich communities; sharing tales of identity, unity and equality.
Entry is FREE, however you may need to reserve a time slot.
